Retire at the Beach
You may have noticed that this is NOT a picture of a couple walking on the beach. And yet, those beach scenes still fill almost every retirement ad run by financial firms.
But, the reality is that retirement doesn’t mean the same as it did 50 years ago.
Rather, my clients think of retirement as living a semi-relaxing but productive life on their terms – sure relaxing on the beach here and there, but mostly – being productive when and how they want, staying physically active, maybe volunteering, having total flexibility to see the kids and the grandkids, maybe traveling, being actively engaged with friends and community, enjoying more hobby time – and more together time (but maybe not 24/7/365).
